Maritime cybersecurity : Strategy, requirements, solutions and outlook
90 % of global trade is shipborne. The maritime world is undergoing an unprecedented digitilisation, which in turn has created a larger target open to cyberattacks. Recent events show that cyberattacks on the maritime sector have dramatically risen. In 2018, at the Interministerial Committee for the Sea, France recognised the high stakes involved in maritime cybersecurity, and lauched a strategy which enables the maritime and cybersecurity players from public and private sectors to join forces.
The aim of the « maritime cybersecurity » day on the 16th of November 2021, during European Cyber Week 2021 is to present this strategy and the actions implemented to increase digital security of the maritime and harbour sectors, express the specific requirements of maritime operators, share best practices and explore prospects in terms of industrial solutions, research, education and training in maritime cybersecurity.
